The person you are most likely going to meet when you join a Mountain Minds International Experience is me, Christel Langeveld. Let me tell you a little bit about who I am. My passion for the outdoors and free lifestyle started from a very young age and believe it or not, it started in the flat lands of Holland. I grew up on the country side and as a kiddo I already spend as much of my time as possible in the fresh air. I set off on solo camping ventures since the age of six in the fields of the farmer across the road, observing the stars at night and making pancakes on an improvised stove. The sports I grew up with were road biking, ice skating and horse riding. The ice skating brought me for the first time in the mountains and the chosen land was Austria. My soul was forever sold! This is where I started my true love for anything outdoors. During my studies in Tourist Management, a world of opportunities opened and I moved to Austria, Paznaun which became the base for one of my biggest passions, skiing. I worked in Schischule Kappl and in summer as an outdoor instructor in Austria, Italy & France. After many years in Austria I landed a winter season in Meribel, France, followed by a move to Scotland, where my outdoor career really took off and where a forever lasting love affair with the Scottish mountains and people began. It has been the most amazing training ground and work place I have ever had. Scotland is exceptional for its outstanding natural beauty and true ruggedness. I lived there for 10 years and it was my base as a freelance adventure guide, outdoor instructor and coach before I got an amazing inside in Euskalleria, or better known, the Basque country. Together with my partner I got to explore this incredible place in such dept that I decided to take the step and move my base to the Basque country and start Mountain Minds International, specializing in Basque and Scottish trips and so able to share my passion for these stunning places. On my personal adventures I still float all over the world as I love exploring new places, especially remote ones. I have a great interest in discovering other cultures and their languages but my greatest adventures are the ones on which I am inspired by the people I meet during my journeys, my work, generally throughout my life and to inspire others with my happiness and passion for the outdoors!
