The Basque Country Great Traverse 25 days of great hiking in the Basque Country 12th September until 6th October 2011

Join us on this 25 day stunning trip crossing the Basque Country in northern Spain. This trip follows mainly hills and country side and is divided in 19 days of walking with 5 rest days to visit Bilbao, Gasteiz, (Vitoria), Donostia (San Sebastian), Irunea (Pamplona) and Donibane Garazi (St. Jean Pied de Port).
The trip starts at the western end of Euskal herria (the Basque word for Basque Country) in Karrantza and ends at Linza at the eastern end.
You will be experiencing nature at is best on this trip as it is not uncommon to see vultures, deer, wolves etc, rewarded with magnificent views and coming down to exquisite local gastronomy at the end of the day, this trip is one you will remember!!

You need to have good walking fitness as some of the ascents are steep and/or involve easy scrambling and there will be days that include up to 9 hours of walking.
Accomodation is in refuges, casa rurales (country houses) or small pensions/hotels based on half board.

Transport to starting point from Bilbao and return to Bilbao is included.

For those who won't be able to leave 25 days in a row it is possible to complete this trip in 4 individual weeks.

This trip takes a maximum of 10 people.

Price: €1500 euros per person including 25 nights of accommodation based on half board, packed lunch, guide, transport from and to Bilbao.
